I had one of these before and made the mistake of giving it away.  When I realised I really needed a decent financial calculator, I carried out extensive research which drew me to the conclusion that the HP 17BII+ is the optimal choice.  It's not perfect: the angle of the display makes it a challenge to ensure that the display is perfectly legible.  The screw holding in the battery compartment cover seems to be an additional detail that isn't needed.  And, judging from the accompanying technical manual (PDF), it's going to take quite a while to learn keystroke combinations.  But, overall, this is a powerful and well-constructed tool, and I expect it to provide a long and reliable life.  At the moment, I am exploring basic functionality (which seems solid), but the aim is that I shall use it to perform financial calculations 'on the fly' when a computer is not available - and that, clearly, is going to need me to memorise quite a bit of the user-manual!

I can't do without a calculator...have always had one and an HP...which I think are the best financial calculators.

This was to replace my much favoured HP financial calculator (at least 20 years old!) which I unfortunately lost, but functions and keyboard very similar so excellent!
